REARRANGE THINGS:

If we were to believe what feng shui has to teach, then every object has an energy, and the placement of every object creates an energy flow, and the placement of multiple objects near each other has a combined energetic impact that can be felt immediately upon entering a room - for better or for worse.

I like to think that I have a knack for setting up a space (specifically my own home), in such a way that upon entering there is immediately felt a sense of ease and comfort  and welcome.  In other words, I like to think that I have an inner feng shui master who knows the exact best placement for every object I possess, and that she has as her overriding intention to make me, and everyone who enters my home feel loved and fabulously cozy.

OK, maybe I'm taking this farther than it needs to go, but my point here is that if you ever get into that space where you feel like something has to change for you to feel better, or clearer minded, or more open, or just plain motivated to move forward toward something - even if you have no idea what the something is - try this:  Rearrange Your Stuff.

Amazing things happen when you dare to rearrange and they go like this:

When you move the big stuff the first thing you discover are the lurking dust bunnies and animal fur clumps that when finally vacuumed up after months or years of hiding, brings a sense of cleanliness so satisfying that you'll find yourself smiling on the inside and perhaps not even know why.

Once you've re-placed the big things to new locations (and this could be as simple as swapping a couch and a chair that share the same wall), you'll find that the medium sized stuff like the lamps and end tables will naturally need relocation to remain useful and this in turn will change the impact of the lighting, which is one of the biggest simple delights to behold. And then there's the art work and the new color schematic that follows its new positioning...

But my favorite part of rearranging stuff is the energy surge that accompanies such a minor act of creative genius.  And if you can stay plugged in long enough to redirect that energy, you just might discover a heretofor hidden talent or passion or desire that was waiting for a charge to put it in motion - and who knows where that will lead!
